Mortality
Multiple Myeloma is an incurable, fatal disease. The total number of myeloma deaths in the U.S. in 1993 was approximately 10,000 patients, similar to the number of deaths reported for ovarian, stomach and liver cancers. Median survival rate for multiple myeloma patients is about 2-3 years.
